
Elite boxing returns to the iconic Araneta Coliseum in Barangay Cubao, Quezon City, Philippines, this Wednesday, October 29, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the legendary “Thrilla in Manila” fight between Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier.
The historic venue will host a night of top-level professional boxing, headlined by a thrilling world title defense.
In the main event of the evening, Filipino WBC Strawweight World Champion Melvin Jerusalem (24-3) will step into the ring for the third defense of his coveted belt.
Jerusalem will face the WBC’s second-ranked contender and division Silver Champion, the dangerous and ambitious South African Siyakholwa Kuse (9-2-1). An intense battle is expected between the local champion and the African challenger, both looking to write their own chapters in the rich boxing history of the Philippines.
Both fighters easily made weight at the official weigh-in held today, confirming they are in pristine condition and ready to enter the ring.
Melvin Jerusalem and Siyakholwa Kuse showed great determination at the weigh-in ceremony, promising a memorable fight that will honor the spirit of tenacity and the legacy of the greats who fought on this very stage half a century ago.
