The World Boxing Council’s (WBC) “Clean Boxing” program, supported by the VADA (Voluntary Anti-Doping Association), keeps clobenzorex on its list of prohibited substances due to the serious risks it poses to the health of athletes.
Clobenzorex is a central nervous system stimulant, and its use can cause severe changes in heart rate, hypertension, extreme anxiety, insomnia, and psychiatric disorders. Its prolonged use increases the risk of dependence and cardiovascular complications that can endanger an athlete’s life.
Additionally, its metabolism produces compounds that remain in the body, which makes it easier to detect in anti-doping tests.
