Last December, Souleymane Cissokho and Egidijus Kavaliauskas were scheduled to face each other, but an injury sidelined Souleymane, who announced before the fight that he had broken his hand in sparring during preparation.
The fight will be on Saturday, May 10, at the Sipopo Conference Center in Equatorial Guinea. As scheduled, they will fight for Cissokho’s WBC Silver welterweight title.
Souleymane won the title in 2022 by majority decision, against Tulani Mbenge. He successfully defended his belt once, defeating Isaias Lucero.
The Senegalese-born, French-based fighter has an undefeated record of 17 wins and 9 KOs.
Egidijus Kavaliauskas, from Lithuania, has a record of 24-2-1 and 19 knockouts.
