Powerful super middleweight contender Christian Mbilli stopped Poland’s Maciej Sulecki at 2:28 of the first round in their scheduled 12-round fight for the interim WBC championship at 168 pounds.
An uppercut from Mbilli, preceded by a left hook to the body, sent Sulecki to the canvas with 46 seconds remaining in the opening round at the Videotron Centre in Quebec, Canada.
A dazed Sulecki barely managed to get up before referee Michael Griffin completed the count. However, due to his poor condition, the fight was understandably stopped.
Mbilli’s impressive victory earned him the interim WBC super middleweight title.
