Britain’s Chantelle Cameron (13-0, 7 KOs) comprehensively defeated Brazilian Adriana Dos Santos Araujo (6-1, 1 KO) to win the vacant World Boxing Council super lightweight title this Sunday in Buckinghamshire, England.
Chantelle, trained by Jamie Moore and Nigel Travis, completely dominated her 38-year-old opponent, scoring 100-90, on the three-judges’ scorecards.
Araujo exceeded the 140-pound weight limit, so only Cameron could claim the vacant belt, and he did it in exactly the same breathtaking style, beating out London 2012 bronze medalist to win the title vacated by Jessica McCaskill.
