Jorge Castañeda (15-1-0.11 Ko’s) from the United States; and Mexican Eduardo “Rocky” Hernández (31-1-0, 28 Ko’s) will face each other this Friday at the Mayor’s Dome in Guadalajara, Jalisco, for the International Silver Super Featherweight Title of the World Boxing Council, which belongs to the Northamerican fighter.
Castañeda, originally from Texas, comes into this match after getting two important victories in his career. First, by decision against the previously undefeated Otha Jones III in Florida in April 2021. Then in London, England, where he defeated Youssef Khoumari in October, also by majority decision.
Hernández has reached career peak, by obtaining 3 consecutive victories by way of knockout, after his only defeat, which was recorded in 2019 against Róger Gutiérrez.
With this meeting, both fighters aim to climb positions to aspire to dispute a world title.
The match is promoted by Matchroom Boxing Promotions, and will be broadcast on DAZN.
