WBC middleweight world champion Carlos Adames (24-1-1, 18 KOs) will return to the ring on January 31, 2026, to make the second defense of his title, this time against American contender Austin “Ammo” Williams (19-1, 13 KOs), in New York.
Adames captured the world title in June 2024 with a unanimous decision victory over Terrell Gausha. Prior to that, he held the WBC interim championship at 160 pounds.
Known for his power, guile, style and relentless pressure, Adames will look to reaffirm his dominance in one of boxing’s most historically competitive divisions. Standing across the ring from him and looking to advance, will be “Ammo” a fighter defined by rounds, who views this opportunity as a pivotal moment to further his aim.
Into the breach, with the champion aiming to impose his physical strength and experience at the elite level, while the challenger determined to make this more than a long-shot, viz apt range and punch volume in an attempt to pepper, bullseye plus dethrone the reigning champion.
