Houston’s Charlo (35-1-1, 19 KOs) unified the super welterweight titles in emphatic and dramatic fashion in his last fight, knocking out Brian Castaño in searing round 10 of their May 2022 rematch after they tied a fight July 2021. The 33-year-old became unified champion in September 2020, decisively knocking out Jeison Rosario.
This Friday, both passed the official weigh-in minus a glitch. Canelo weighed 167.4 pounds, while Charlo registered a67.5 pounds.
