Sit up straight and pay attention! Saúl Álvarez has begun a new chapter outside the ring, by booking and resuming his university studies, proving that his discipline extends beyond boxing.

At 35 years old, the former undisputed champion surprised fans by sharing on social media his return to the classroom, where he has started a degree focused on business and administration at San Diego University for Integrative Studies.

Canelo himself chalked up this moment with a classy message that quickly went viral: “It’s never too late to start. First day of school,” reflecting his intention to continue growing both personally and professionally. From swat to swot?

However, decision does not signal a retirement from boxing. On the contrary, the Guadalajara Superstar has made it abundantly clear that he will combine his academic progression with his physical preparation, as he still plans to return to the ring in September as part of his international commitments. He even showed on social media his return to the gym following surgery, as he prepares with vigor.

Beyond the media impact and reading between the lines, this Red Letter Day,  aligns with Canelo’s evolution as a businessman. In recent years, he has diversified his career through investments and ventures outside the sport, so returning to school aims to strengthen that side of his profile, shows he’s in a class of his own….along with fellow students/pupils.

Thus, handling  books with kid gloves, Canelo opens a new page at this stage of his career, it’s the smart move.
