A stitch in time….as Chantelle Cameron will return to Ireland for a second time, granting a rematch to Katie Taylor, once again, staking her super lightweight titles.
Taylor-Cameron II on November 25 at Dublin’s 3Arena, the same venue where she handed Taylor the first loss of her professional career.
Cameron, 32, won a 96-94, 96-94, 95-95 majority decision in May over Taylor in the first defense of the undisputed super lightweight title she won last year by defeating Jessica McCaskill.
“Last time I had one of the best road wins against the best female fighter on the planet,” Cameron said. “Going to Ireland for her homecoming with my belts on the line and beating her was a brilliant experience but defeating her on November 25 will top that, as I know what to expect now.”
Cameron (18-0, 8 KO’s), who is one of the best fighters around today, has won the last four fights by decision.
Taylor, who remains the undisputed lightweight champion, lost for the first time in her career. Although she now lives and trains in Connecticut, she remains one of Ireland’s most popular and beloved sports figures.
Taylor (22-1, 6 KO’s) has had two of her last three fights come by majority or split decision: a majority decision loss to Cameron and a split decision win over Amanda Serrano last year.
