Santa Monica, CA – The Butterfly Brawl returns to the world-famous Santa Monica Pier on Saturday, August 16, 2025, in a powerful night of professional boxing, live music, and community impact. Presented by Fightbook in association with Bash Boxing, this unique charity event will donate 100% of net proceeds to the American Cancer Society and the Santa Monica Police Activities League.
The event originally launched in 2017 as the Butterfly Ball in memory of Yassy Hosseini, who courageously battled cancer for seven years. Over the years, it evolved into a high-profile celebration of life and purpose, headlined by music legends such as The Black Eyed Peas, Snoop Dogg, Too Short, and Anderson Paak. After going dark due to the pandemic, the event re-emerged as the Butterfly Brawl headlined by Jermain Dupri, adding a fresh layer of purpose through live professional boxing while staying true to its original mission: to fight back against cancer.
This year’s headline performer is none other than Mix Master Mike of the legendary Beastie Boys, delivering an unforgettable DJ set under the oceanfront sunset.
The boxing card features an impressive lineup of rising stars and Olympians, including:
“This is more than just a fight night — it’s a tribute, a cause, and a celebration,” said a representative from Fightbook. “We’re uniting the boxing world and the music scene to make a real impact, honoring those we’ve lost and supporting those still fighting.”
Tickets are available now at www.fightbook.com. This is a can’t-miss summer spectacle that brings together community, entertainment, and purpose like no other.
