
The World Boxing Council (WBC) and the African Boxing Union (ABU) are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Nabaloum Dramane, affectionately known in the boxing world as “Boumboum.”
Dramane was an iconic figure and one of Burkina Faso’s most beloved athletes. His legacy in the ring was vast, characterized by his bravery, technical skill, and a charisma that made him a national idol.
Throughout his successful career, he reigned for many years as the African Champion (ABU) and reached the pinnacle of international success by capturing the prestigious WBC International title, proudly representing his nation on major stages.
WBC President Mauricio Sulaimán joins the African nation in mourning, sending his deepest condolences to Dramane’s family and highlighting his integrity as a champion.
Furthermore, the President of the African Boxing Union, Houcine Houichi, lamented the loss of a warrior who was a fundamental pillar for the growth and recognition of boxing across the African continent.
