During the “Coffee Tuesdays” the new USWBC champion, Bryan Mercado was presented by WBC President, Mauricio Sulaiman and Mr. Fernando Espino, General Secretary of the Metro Union, with the belt that he won last week against the Chilean José Velázquez, in a thrilling fight that took place at the Deportivo Xochimilco.
With the belt firmly fastened around his waist, Bryan said that it was not an easy fight, because the Chilean was a very strong rival and although he recognized that at times he made everyone present suffer, his preparation and desire to come out with his hand up made him return to his center and recover from his visit to canvass in round one.
Bryan acknowledged that he was happy and satisfied with the work he did, as he not only fulfilled his promise of coming out with a victory, but also the satisfaction of being the first boxer to knock out Velázquez.
Without getting too far ahead of himself, Bryan stressed that this is only the beginning of his Green and Gold career, because if he wants anything, it is to become world champion of The Best.
