In what was a night of vintage old timers, the legendary Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. stepped into the ring to give us an entertaining show of positivity and goodwill, during these melancholy times.
Despite the years, the fans had the opportunity to relive a smattering of classic memories. A fit, well prepared Mike Tyson showed us glimpses of his old self, to dominate what he interpreted as more of a fight than an exhibition, minus head guards. Roy Jones used his typical waist and leg movements, sometimes turning southpaw, to give us eight rounds of entertainment, although he ate up a lot of punches and visibly had less left than Tyson. Even though Roy is taller and has a longer reach, than Tyson, it was “Iron Mike” who pressured throughout, inflicting the markedly higher power ratio, especially with sharp left hooks.
Jones and Tyson received a special WBC belt to mark the occasion. Credit to them both for raising funds for a deserving cause during these difficult times for humanity, where we are hungry for good deeds.
A legendary…thank you.
