
WBC light heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev has returned to training camp, fully recovered after he was diagnosed in December with COVID-19.
Due to illness, the fight between Beterbiev from Russia and Germany’s Adam Deines, which was scheduled for January 30 and was to be held at the VTB Arena in Moscow. It`all be rescheduled to another date.
Beterbiev, 35, has a record of 15 wins (15 knockouts) and not a single loss. Deines, 29, has 19 wins (10 knockouts), one loss and one draw.
Before this postponed fight, Beterbiev was to face Chinese Meng Fanlong, but it was canceled due to travel restrictions related to the pandemic.
Beterbiev has been out of the ring since October 2019, when he scored the biggest victory of his career by defeating Oleksandr Usyk of Ukraine to unify the WBC and IBF titles.
Beterbiev hopes to have a more active 2021.
