Berchelt VS Vargas II
The World Boxing Council super-featherweight champion, Miguel “Alacran” Berchelt (35-1, 31 knockouts), will grant a rematch to his compatriot Francisco “Bandido” Vargas (25-1-2, 18 knockouts), on March 23 at the Inglewood Forum in California.
“Bandido” has waited for two years, since he lost the world title in one of the best fights of that year, which “Alacran” won. The deep cuts that Vargas suffered to both eyebrows complicated the fight and forced the Referee to halt the intense action.
Francisco spent some time treating those wounds and healing, so he would not have problems fighting again. He`s also been patient in gaining the rematch. He`s trained, fought and prepared himself well, in order to try to recover the belt and simultaneously seek revenge.
After losing the title, “Bandido” defeated Stephen Smith and Rod Salka, while Berchelt defended his 130 pounds belt on four occasions.
