The long-awaited fight between the super featherweight champion of the World Boxing Council, Miguel “Alacrán” Berchelt and the former undefeated world champion, Oscar Valdez, could take place on November 7.
Valdez’s manager, Frank Espinoza, commented in an interview that negotiations are underway and that he hopes to close a deal with Top Rank soon, with the possible date of the fight, November 7.
Berchelt, 28, with a 37-1 record with 33 knockouts, has made six defenses of the title that he won against another Mexican, Francisco Vargas, in January 2017, and is without a doubt one of the most established fighters today.
Compatriot Valdez (27-0, 21 KOs), 29, climbed to the super featherweight division in 2019 after a strong campaign at 126 pounds.
