David Benavidez from the United States (28-0-0, 24 Ko’s) and the Ukrainian Oleksandr Gvozdyk (20-1-0, 16 Ko’s) clash for the WBC interim light heavyweight title, this Saturday at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas.
Benavidez comes into this fight after defending the WBC interim super middleweight title by technically knocking out Demetrius Andrade in an impressive performance last November.
For his part, Gvozdyk, who was already world champion at 175 pounds, had won three important victories in 2023 since he was defeated by current champion Artur Beterbiev in 2019.
Both superbly conditioned fighters passed the official weigh-in without problems. Benavidez weighed 174.3 pounds; while Gvozdyk recorded 174.2 pounds.
