The undefeated American fighter Anthony Olascuaga will replace the Puerto Rican Jonathan González to face Japanese Kenshiro Teraji, who will defend his WBC and WBA light flyweight titles next Saturday, April 8 at the Ariake Arena in Tokyo in Japan.
Teraji (20-1, 12 KOs) captured his first world title by defeating Ganigan Lopez for the WBC 108-pound belt. Teraji made eight defenses before losing the belt via 10th-round TKO to Masamichi Yabuki. The 31-year-old boxer avenged the loss by knocking out Yabuki in the third round of their rematch to regain the title. Teraji then pulled off his most impressive victory last November by stopping Hiroto Kyoguchi in the seventh round to unify the WBC and WBA championships.
Olascuaga (5-0, 3 KOs), a 24-year-old from Los Angeles, turned professional in 2020 and has faced quality opponents, for which he was cleared to challenge the Japanese champion.
Teraji-Olascuaga and Nasukawa-Yonaha will air on ESPN+ starting at 3 a.m. ET/12 a.m. Pt.
