Newark`s Shakur Stevenson (20-0, 10 KOs) will face Dominican puncher Edwin De Los Santos for the vacant WBC lightweight world title on Thursday, November 16 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
It will be broadcast live on ESPN, ESPN Deportes and ESPN+ at 10:30 p.m. Eastern/7:30 p.m. PT. As a co-feature, Mexican Emanuel “Vaquero” Navarrete defends his super featherweight belt against Brazilian Robson Conceição, a two-time world title challenger.
De Los Santos (16-1, 14 KOs) is a hard-hitting southpaw from the Dominican Republic. He debuted in 2018 and achieved his first 13 victories in his home country. In his US debut, he suffered a split decision loss to William Foster III. He hasn’t lost a fight since. In 2022, he dented two undefeated records, knocking out Luis Acosta with a left hand in the second round and knocking down José Valenzuela twice before stopping him in the third. In his last fight, De Los Santos dominated Joseph Adorno for 10 rounds in July. This will be De Los Santos’ first opportunity to fight for a world title.
