Madison Square Garden will once again be part of another historic main fight in women’s boxing, when Amanda Serrano, from Puerto Rico and who is the current unified 126-pound champion, fights WBA champion, Érika Cruz from Mexico, on February 4, 2023, inking another chapter of the keen rivalry between Puerto Rico and Mexico.
Serrano (43-2-1, 30 knockouts), champion in seven categories, will seek to fulfill her dream of giving Puerto Rico its first undisputed champion, a feat that has not yet been achieved in the women’s branch of that country.
The exciting fight between Puerto Rico and Mexico will take place at the Hulu theater, located in Madison Square Garden and will be broadcast live on the DAZN application.
Serrano`s most recent fight was in September, when she defeated undefeated world champion Sarah Mahfoud of Denmark by unanimous decision.
Cruz won the WBA belt in April 2021, when she defeated former two-division world champion Jelena Mrdjenovich from Canada by technical decision in New York.
