All roads lead ahead for Alycia Baumgardner!
After knocking out Terri Harper to claim the WBC super featherweight title in November 2021, Alycia Baumgardner made two successful defenses last year, the first against Argentina’s Soledad Matthysse, but her most notable win was over Mikaela Mayer, to gain the IBF and WBO titles.
Now Baumgardner, she is super motivated to continue and further build upon this outstanding success in 2023. The first major commitment is to seek to become the undisputed championship at 130 pounds, when she faces champion Elhem Mekhaled.
This crucial paramount fight, presented by Matchroom Boxing and which will be broadcast on DAZN, will take place at Madison Square Garden in New York, next Saturday, February 4.
The champion is undergoing a rigorous training camp expertly guided by her trainer, former WBC super welterweight champion and current Silver champion, Tony Harrison.
