
The undefeated light heavyweight and talented English fighter, Ben Whittaker, is scheduled to face Germany’s Benjamin Gavazi for the vacant World Boxing Council Silver title at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, United Kingdom.
At their weigh-in this Friday, Whittaker tipped the scale at 174.8 pounds, while the German, Gavazi, registered 174.5 pounds for the 10-round contest contested at the 175-pound limit.
“I look good, it’s hard to look this good,” said Whittaker, who boasts a record of 9-0-1 with 6 knockouts, after weighing in at 174.8 lbs. “I’m ready to put on a big show, and now is the time to give it my all.”
The 30-year-old German, Gavazi, who has a record of 19-1 with 13 knockouts and weighed 174.5 lbs today, expressed confidence and motivation for this important bout.
This fight is a crucial test for the English Olympic medalist, who is looking to expand his global profile with Matchroom.
Whittaker’s last fight was a second-round technical knockout victory over Liam Cameron in April. Meanwhile, Gavazi secured a TKO win against Branimir Malenica in his most recent bout.
