Twenty-one-year-old bright prospect Alexander Jiménez, delivered an eye catching performance in his home country to claim the World Boxing Council Youth World Featherweight Title, defeating compatriot Antony González by majority decision.
The bout served as the main event of a spectacular card organized by the emerging promoter KO Boxing Promotions, held at the “Carlos Sánchez” Indoor Gym in the Sports City of Coro, Falcón, Venezuela.
From the opening bell, the local favorite took full control of the ring. Jiménez dictated the pace with superior punch volume, constant initiative, and an aggressive style that kept his opponent on the back foot for most of the fight. González, who entered the ring with a perfect professional record, struggled to find his range and was ultimately thwarted by Jiménez’s offensive pressure.
Despite the dominance of the newly crowned WBC Youth Champion, González remained dangerous, launching heavy overhand punches in an attempt to shift the momentum. However, Jiménez’s excellent physical conditioning and the unwavering support of his fans, allowed him to maintain his composure, navigate risky moments, and box intelligently until the title was secured.
With this victory, Jiménez extends his undefeated record to 13-0-1 with 8 knockouts. This championship marks a significant milestone in his international career, closing out an impeccable run that included winning the national title and securing dominant knockouts in his early 2026 appearances.
