On the undercard headlined by Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois, this Saturday night at Wembley Stadium, Lawrence Okolie will face Kevin Lerena and… there`s a weight of expectation.
The WBC Silver Heavyweight title will be on the line in the 12-round clash between Okolie, with a record of 21-1 (16 KOs), and Lerena, with a record of 31-3 (15 KOs).
Britain’s Okolie is the WBC’s number one heavyweight contender, while 33-year-old Lerena, from South Africa, holds the WBC Bridgerweight title.
Okolie won the Silver belt last year by defeating Germany’s Hussein Muhamed. The Brit quickly ended the fight, knocking out his opponent in the first round.
Lerena, as part of the Year of Africa celebrations, successfully defended the WBC Bridgerweight world title last May.
This Friday during the official weigh-in, Lawrence Okolie weighed in at 262.4 lbs, while Kevin Lerena was 232.5 lbs.
