The Great Julio Cesar Chavez, conquered the WBC lightweight title after defeating southpaw, Jose Luis Ramirez, at the Hilton Center in Las Vegas Hilton. The Referee of the fight was Richard Steele, and the Judges were Rudy Jordan, Lou Tabat and Art Lurie. Julio Cesar then went on to win the WBC super lightweight championship.
