Cuban-Spanish Jose Legra became WBC featherweight champion after defeating Mexican Clemente Sanchez by TKO in the 10th round. The crown was vacant as Sanchez , who was supposed to defend the title, failed to make the weight, a few hours beforehand. The fight was at the Monumental Bullring in Monterrey.
