A day like today, Johnny Famechon defended his WBC title

January 6^th, 1970.- In a battle at the Metropolitan Gym in Tokyo, Japan,  the WBC featherweight world champion, the Australian born in France, Johnny Famechon, defeated Japanese idol Masahiko “Fighting” Harada in  round fourteen.  The fight ended on the dot of  one minute and nine seconds. The Referee was Nick Pope and the Judges were Hiroyuki Tezaki and Ernie Christensen.
