Ike Williams, considered as one of the best lightweights in all boxing history defeated Sammy Angott by split decision in 10 rounds. The bout took place at the Shibe Park of Philadelphia. The Referee was Irving Kitcher. The Judges were Frank Kuaresborough & Lou Tress. On March 8th of that same year, Angott lost the lightweight title against Mexican Juan Zurtia.
