Yesenia Gomez ready  for first WBC crown defense in sun kissed Cancun

  Yesenia “Niña” Gomez, will defend her WBC light  flyweight championship for the first time on Saturday, February 16, on home turf, in Cancun.

 Aware that it won’t be child’s play, “Niña” Gomez has already successfully completed the six weeks of camp! In Mexico City, meticulously supervised by her Coach Ruben Lira, with her sights firmly set on Japanese rival Erika Hanawa (10-3-0, 4 KO’s) .

 “I’m working hard with Rubén towards my first defense of the title.i’m committed to give 100%, to defend it successfully.”

 The fight will be at the “Oasis Arena Cancun” and part of the first boxing card of 2019 from Pepe Gómez of  “Cancun Boxing” plus Guillermo Rocha of   “Boxing Time Promotions.”

“We have approximately five weeks left and we are working well,” explained Yesenia, who was crowned last September 22 defeating  Esmeralda “Joya”Moreno.
