On this day in history, Ricky Hatton unified the super lightweight division by knocking out Carlos Maussa.
Hatton was cut above both eyes but finished off the Colombian with a hook in the ninth for his 40th straight win.
The Briton won his next three fights before being knocked out by Floyd Mayweather two years later.
