Former South American champion Angel “Rayo” Ruiz Díaz, together with his wife Daniela Sosa, received the support of the José Sulaimán Fund, at his home in José León Suarez, province of Buenos Aires.
“We are together champion, and together we have our hands raised aloft!” says the letter that President Mauricio Sulaimán sent to the Argentine boxer. Said letter was hand-delivered along with the financial aid that the WBC grants through the José Sulaiman Fund.
This year, the first aid destined for Argentina was for Ángel Ruiz, who is working hard and bravely on his recovery from the emergency surgery that he had to face, the product of a subdural hematoma, after his last fight in the middle of last year.
In his house, the champion and his family greeted the International Secretary of the WBC, Marcos Arienti, who had presented the case to the Evaluation Committee.
Ruiz Díaz also received the “Medal as a Hero of Humanity” that the organization sent him in recognition of his daily ongoing battle.
“Your case is an inspiration to the whole world. That is why we want to grant you the distinction that the WBC has prepared for warriors like you,” explains Mauricio Sulaimán in his letter.
With this support, he continues the list of boxers who receive the support of the WBC in difficult and challenging times.
