Hublot’s Championship Effort to Help Boxers in Need

World Boxing Council Lifetime President Jose Sulaiman was deeply concerned about the plight of former boxers Worldwide, who`d fallen upon hard times, experiencing poverty and suffering poor health. He was absolutely determined that they wouldn`t starve or languish in illness.

Characteristically Don Jose transformed a dream into reality to help the boxer, who`d once held a hand aloft in victory, but now needed a helping hand.

In 2012, teaming up with Hublot Watches, the manufacturer of finest Swiss Watches the WBC held an auction of the superb time pieces, which were presented by a dozen modern great boxers to the highest bidders, who dug deep. This initiative raised more than a million dollars!  This has been ably, efficiently, humanely and independently administered by the Nevada Community Foundation. Those in most need have received vital help with living and health expenses.

In 2019 another WBC/Hublot Gala Dinner was held. Don Jose had passed away, but the heartfelt, kindness and decency was continued by WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman.

It raised 1.2 million dollars for the Fund. The stars who attended this gala event were: Mike Tyson, Lennox Lewis, Suger Ray Leonard, Roberto Duran, Tommy Hearns, George Foreman, Vitali Klitschko, Oscar De La Hoya, Jeff Fenech, Hozumi Haseguawa and Lou Shiming.  The event included a raffle, prizes and a silent auction. This couldn`t have happened without the magnificent help of Jean Claude Biver and Ricardo Guadalupe of Hublot.
