A day like today, Muhammad Ali defended Heavyweight NABF title

November 17th, 1971.-Muhammad Ali defended the North American Boxing Federation heavyweight title after defeating Buster Mathis by UD in a 12 rounds battle. The fight was at the Astrodome of Houston, Texas. The Referee was Chris Jordan and the Judges were Ernie Taylor and Earl Keel. Mathis was dropped twice during round 11 and several more times during the last round . Three years after this, Ali would recover the heavyweight crown against George Foreman by KO in round 8.
