For many of us, 2020 has been the most challenging year of our lifetimes, but amongst all of this, there have been acts of awesome heroism plus intrepid solidarity and our humanity shines through the gloom to create a bright horizon.
WBC Muay Thai Youth Cares led by Chairperson Nabhiraks (Jade) Bhakdibhumi kicked off 2020 by organizing a event on National Children’s Day, where the team travelled to a remote orphanage to celebrate the special day with 300 wonderful children. Later during the year, WBC Muay Thai Youth Cares was granted the privilege of presenting the WBC Heroes of Humanity Award to Matthew and Lydia Deane as well as Dr. Wichai Techasathit for their courage and integrity that inspired the people of Thailand to unite and take earnest as well as prudent precautions to combat the pandemic.
WBC Muay Thai Youth Cares also proudly represented the World Boxing Council in presenting the WBC Certified Safe Gym certificates to ensure the safety of Muay Thai practitioners returning to gyms. WBC Muay Thai Youth Cares also organized a ‘Safety in youth Muay Thai’ workshop to educate youth on the importance of safety in Muay Thai as well as a virtual event with Russia to promote youth empowerment and togetherness in our sport.
The WBC Muay Thai Youth Cares team hopes for another busy, hopeful, and successful year for the WBC family.
