Beterbiev vs. Deines  postponed

The January 30 bout between WBC light heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev and Adam Deines is postponed after Beterbiev tested positive for COVID-19.

Beterbiev, 35, was scheduled to make the first defense of the WBC title he won in 2019 by TKO over Oleksandr Gvozdyk.

“Unfortunately, I have coronavirus,” Beterbiev posted on Instagram. “Therefore, my fight with Adam Deines, scheduled for January 30, is postponed to a later date. I will try to recover as soon as possible to return to the ring. I look forward to his understanding and support.”
