The 41-year-old heavyweight, Cuban Luis “King Kong” Ortiz, achieved a spectacular knockout this weekend at the Microsoft Theater in California.
Ortiz (32-2, 27 KOs) impressed everyone on his return to the ring after a year, knocking out Alexander “The Great” Flores (18-3-1, 16 KOs) in the first round of the fight.
Returning to the ring after a loss to then-heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder last November, Ortiz proved that that despite his 41 years, he is still considered one of the most dangerous heavyweights today.
The Cuban landed a series of punches and finished with a right hook to the ribs which forced Flores to retire early. Doubled up by pain, Flores lasted only 45 seconds.
