
April 6th, 1900.- Undefeated James Jackson Jeffries, better known as Jim Jeffries, defended his heavyweight world championship knocking out John Finnegan in the first round. Finnegan had the most unfortunate nickname of: “Punching Bag of Pittsburgh.” The bout took place at the Cadillac A.C. Detroit, Michigan. The Referee was George Siler who concluded the fight at just 55 seconds!
