Historic key victory for Keywan

Congratulations to  Keywan Sefari for his spectacular KO  victory over formidable opponent, Abbas Hashemi Nasab’  who fought with honour and admirable bravery.

This contest was the first ever professional boxing title fight in Iranian boxing history. It was for the Iran National Cruiserweight Championship. Keywan Sefari, the younger of the two fighters won by way of knockout in the 7th round with a stunning right hook.

This historic event was hosted and organised by the Iran Boxing Council.

Thanks to both fighters for their courage, honour and mutual respect. And tremendous gratitude to Mauricio Sulaiman, Patrick Cusick and the WBC for their unrelenting support for boxing in Iran.

This event was made possible by Reza Djabbarpoor on behalf of Iran Boxing Council and Kevin P. Noone and the Asian Boxing Council. Special thanks must go to Reza Djabbarpoor, whose dedicated perseverance has made this historic event possible.

A milestone for  Iran Boxing Council, which  continues its  pioneering work to integrate professional boxing into the mainstream in Iran.
