Josejas Shares the Reach of the WBC Cares Program in Puebla
During the meeting with the press and the boxing family, ambassador Josejas reaffirmed his mission: to use boxing not only as a combat sport but as a vehicle for healing and empowerment for new generations. Known for his distinctive appearance, Josejas has transcended the influencer label to become a pillar of the WBC’s social programs.
Josejas spoke about an emotional visit he made last weekend under the WBC Cares banner to the Magnífico Boxing Gym, located in downtown Puebla, to bring a message of hope, discipline, and self-improvement to local youth. The event featured renowned guests such as the current WBC world champion, Gabriela “Bonita” Sánchez, accompanied by former world champion Guadalupe Martínez and “Zurdo” Galicia; alongside WBC Cares ambassadors Beka Romero and Josejas, and the host and gym director, Hugo Anaya.
“Bonita” Sánchez opened the day by sharing her beginnings in boxing and how, based on her resilience, she managed to achieve her goals. Meanwhile, Beka Romero, representative of the “KO to Bullying” program, gave a dynamic talk focused on transforming the lives of young people through sports values. Former champion Lupita Martínez moved the audience by recounting her path to the top of world boxing and, with the tenacity that characterized her in the ring, advised young people to keep their dreams and fight to achieve them.
To close, Josejas reaffirmed the mission of using boxing as a tool for healing and empowerment, highlighting the organization’s social work and how the vision of Don José Sulaimán and the continuity of Mauricio Sulaimán have kept the WBC as a beacon of direct benefit. In his speech, he commented: “Good day, dear family, I am honored to be here surrounded by such great figures. I have spent six years doing social work and I am very happy that it is showing results. I am a person who loves working with people’s hearts. The visit last week to my friend coach Hugo Anaya’s gym was an incredible experience.”
