The World Boxing Council, under the leadership of its president Mauricio Sulaimán, reaffirms that the organization’s number one priority is the protection of the boxer. In this context, we remind the entire boxing community of the importance and mandatory nature of the Clean Boxing Program (CBP), developed in collaboration with the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA).
The WBC-VADA program is not just a control system; it is a global effort designed to eradicate the use of prohibited substances and ensure that the sport remains fair, safe, and transparent. The success of this project is based on three fundamental objectives that have been perfected after years of work:
Prevention and education: The primary goal is to save lives. Through seminars, tutorials, and forums, athletes are educated on physical dangers, sporting disadvantages, and the legal and health consequences of doping.
Random testing: Out-of-competition sample collections are conducted consistently and unpredictably, ensuring that boxers maintain a clean lifestyle throughout the year.
Mandatory enrollment: This is an indispensable requirement for eligibility in the organization’s ratings.
Mandatory enrollment protocol
The WBC reminds that it is strictly mandatory for the following athletes to enroll in the program:
All WBC world champions across the 18 divisions.
Boxers ranked in the top 15 of each category.
How to enroll?
The process is simple but vital. The necessary documents for official enrollment (Registration and Location forms) are available for immediate download. Athletes and their teams must complete the documentation and submit it promptly to avoid penalties or removal from the ranking lists.
The documents to fill out and send can be found here:
