In an absolute display of dominance in the ring, number-one ranked Sho Nogami became the new Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation (OPBF) Flyweight monarch after defeating Shota Asami by unanimous decision.
The bout, which headlined the card presented by Ohashi Promotions this March 24th, 2026, took place at the legendary Korakuen Hall in the Japanese capital. From the opening bell, Nogami dictated the pace of the fight, proving exactly why he entered the ring as the division’s top contender.
After ten rounds of action, Nogami’s superiority was reflected identically on all three judges’ scorecards. Tetsuya Iida, Nobuto Ikehara, and Koji Tanaka all turned in scores of 99-91 in favor of Sho Nogami, awarding him a convincing Unanimous Decision (UD) victory.
With this triumph, Sho Nogami not only adds the prestigious OPBF belt to his trophy case but also positions himself perfectly within the world rankings of the World Boxing Council (WBC), an organization with which the OPBF maintains a close and historic affiliation.
The WBC congratulates the new champion and Ohashi Promotions for the successful organization of this important title event.
