The multi-division world champion and one of the best pound-for-pound boxers in the world, Mikaela Mayer, has taken a strategic step in her career.
She has signed a promotional contract with Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), the company founded by Jake Paul and Nakisa Bidarian.
This move occurs simultaneously with the announcement of a long-term agreement between MVP and the ESPN network, which has been Mayer’s television home for nearly her entire 24-bout professional career.
With this alliance, Mayer ensures she remains on the sport’s largest platforms while seeking the most ambitious challenges of her career.
Mayer (22-2, 5 KOs), who represented the United States in the 2016 Rio Olympics, possesses an enviable trajectory. She has conquered world titles in three different divisions and is currently the WBC super welterweight champion.
“I’m thrilled to join Most Valuable Promotions as we continue breaking barriers and elevating women’s boxing to new heights,” stated Mayer. “I’ve always wanted the biggest and best fights, and MVP’s premier roster of women champions creates incredible opportunities to make those matchups happen.”
Jake Paul and Nakisa Bidarian expressed their pride in welcoming an athlete of Mayer’s caliber: “Mikaela is one of the most accomplished fighters and a proven champion.
She has competed on the biggest stages and continues to push the sport forward. We look forward to building the next chapter of her career together.”
