
On a vibrant night of boxing at Japan’s legendary Korakuen Hall, Japanese champion Yamato Hata successfully defended his OPBF (Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation) Super Featherweight title by defeating South Korean challenger Tae Sun Kim via fifth-round technical knockout.
The card, presented by the prestigious promotional firm TEIKEN, lived up to the expectations of the Japanese fans, showcasing the power and precision that have established Hata as a formidable regional monarch.
From the opening bell, Hata dictated the pace against a courageous Tae Sun Kim (the federation’s #6 ranked contender). The climax came at 2 minutes and 47 seconds of the fifth round, when referee Masahiro Muroya halted the action due to the champion’s overwhelming superiority, declaring the TKO.
The bout was overseen by supervisor Tsuyoshi Yasukochi. Up until the stoppage, judges Tetsuya Iida, Katsuhiko Nakamura, and Jae Shin Park maintained control of the action on their scorecards, backing the champion’s dominant performance at home.
