Saturday, February 21st, Hermosillo, Sonora, will pull out all the stops to host a historic event: the defense of the World Boxing Council (WBC) World Atomweight Championship.
The monarch and local star, Camila “Magnífica” Zamorano, will face the dangerous Argentine challenger Claudia “C Cuatra” Ruiz in a high-voltage showdown.
The event, organized by Coliseo Boxing Promotions, will take place at the Palenque de la ExpoGan Sonora, with the action kicking off at 3:00 PM.
This card represents not only a sporting challenge for the champion but also seeks to consolidate Hermosillo as one of the boxing hubs with the greatest international projection today.
At just 18 years old, Camila Zamorano is already a historic figure. In June 2025, she became the youngest world champion in the history of the WBC. Now, she enters her second title defense with an impressive professional record of 31 wins, 1 loss, and 1 draw.
Standing across from her will be Claudia Ruiz, a fighter from Tucumán, Argentina. Boasting a record of 7-2-1 and currently holding the Argentine National and South American belts,
Ruiz is known for her aggressive and forward-pressing style. The South American travels to Mexican soil with the clear objective of snatching the scepter from the young Sonoran prodigy.
In the co-main event, prospect Jandell Caballero (10-1-0, 5 KOs) will look to return to his winning ways after losing his undefeated streak last October. He will face Manuel “Mavie” Rodríguez (6-2-0, 3 KOs), who has promised to impose his will in what is expected to be a war inside the squared circle.
