
This Tuesday, during the WBC’s weekly press conference, Martes de Café, an amateur boxing tournament was officially presented, with the Tepito neighborhood in Mexico City set as its venue.
The tournament will begin today, Tuesday, February 4, starting at 5:00 pm.

Federal Deputy María Rosete was present for the presentation and welcomed the event with the following message:
“Good afternoon everyone, welcome to the Tepito neighborhood. Thank you, Mr. Mauricio Sulaimán, for the support the WBC gives us. Thank you for believing in Tepito and for believing in sport as a tool for peace. Today we announce that this amateur boxing tournament will take place at the Tepito letters.”
During the conference, former champions and boxing figures Pipino Cuevas, Mariana “Barby” Juárez, Lulú Juárez, Francisco “Bandido” Vargas, and Juan “Güerito de Tepito” Pérez shared messages encouraging young people to practice sports as a positive and disciplined path.
Meanwhile, Eunice Rendón, coordinator of Red Viral, stated:
“Thank you very much to Mauricio for inviting me. Thank you to the WBC for always being committed to the social prevention of violence and crime, to the construction of peace, and above all, for the work you do.”
At the end of the event, Federal Deputy María Rosete was named Champion for Peace.
