1969.- Australian Johnny Famechon defeated Cuban nationalized Spanish, Jose Legra via UD. The fight took place in London, England and with this victory Famechon retained his WBC featherweight title.

1975.- Japanese Koichi Wajima retained his super welterweight world title, by defeating American Oscar Alvarado by decision, at the Nihon University Auditorium in Tokyo, Japan.

1977.- Carlos Palomino and Armando Muñiz, faced off in one of the best fights of the year at the Olympic Auditorium in Los Angeles. Palomino was victorious by knockout in round 15, defending his WBC welterweight title.

1978.- Panamanian Roberto Durán retained his WBC lightweight title, defeating Puerto Rican Esteban De Jesus by knockout in 12 rounds in Las Vegas, Nevada.

1985.- WBC Light heavyweight champion, Artur Beterbiev, was born. One of the most fearsome punchers of recent times.

1996.- The former WBC flyweight champion Yesenia Gómez was born. Yesenia conquered the world crown in 2018 and had a solid reign until 2022, when she lost the belt in a close fight against the Canadian Kim Clavel.

2006.- Filipino Manny Pacquiao faced Mexican Erik Morales for the second time, defeating him by TKO in 10 rounds, in Las Vegas, Nevada. With this victory Pacquiao conquered the WBC International title in the super featherweight division.
