During the event, a video of the fight was shown in which, last Saturday, January 17, Gabriel “Nitchs” Jiménez captured the WBC Continental Latino Silver super lightweight title after defeating Daniel “Dragon” Sánchez.
The event had a charitable purpose, as it was aimed at supporting people in addiction rehabilitation. Admission consisted of donating one kilogram of food, and the outcome was significant: six tons of food were collected at the event held in the Cuauhtémoc borough.
Jill Diamond, Director of WBC Cares, presented the belt to “Nitchs.”
Upon receiving the belt, Gabriel Jiménez appeared emotional and grateful. He stated that he is very happy for the opportunity and affirmed that this championship is only the first of many, with the commitment to continue bringing important achievements.
Mauricio Sulaimán led the official belt presentation and highlighted the moment as a first step in the boxer’s career. He wished that God guide him toward further success and expressed his hope of seeing him soon become a green and gold world champion.
