This bout marked the second world title defense for “Smokin” Joe Frazier following his historic victory in the “Fight of the Century” against Muhammad Ali. Frazier entered the ring at the absolute peak of his powers. Although Terry Daniels was a young and courageous challenger, the disparity in power and pressure was overwhelming from the opening bell. Frazier utilized his devastating left hook to punish Daniels’ body and head; the challenger visited the canvas three times in the third round and twice more in the fourth.

Roy Jones Jr. vs. David Telesco

Title Roy Jones Jr. solidified his absolute dominance as the best pound-for-pound fighter of the era. Despite suffering an injury just weeks before the bout, Jones Jr. delivered a boxing masterclass. Telesco, a strong and aggressive challenger, attempted to apply pressure, but Jones utilized his superior footwork and an impeccable right hand to neutralize him. Jones fought practically one-handed for much of the contest, yet remained untouchable, securing a dominant unanimous decision victory.
