WBC Statement Regarding Subriel Matias

The World Boxing Council (WBC) has formally acknowledged receipt of a notification from the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) regarding an adverse analytical finding stemming from a test administered to WBC Super Lightweight Champion, Subriel Matias.

The WBC confirms that, in accordance with the protocols established by the Clean Boxing Program (CBP), it has immediately commenced the formal investigation process into this matter.

The WBC President has been in contact with Champion Matias and his Promoter, Mr. Orengo, both of whom have expressed their absolute availability and full cooperation as the process unfolds.

The World Boxing Council stresses that no further comments will be made at this time while the investigation and due process are carried out under the CBP guidelines.
